RAM Upgrade

Hi all,

Im looking to go up to 2gb ram. Ive currently got 1gb (2x512) GeIL Golden Dragon PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel DDR Kit. Would I be better off selling this and getting 2x1gb, or adding another 2x512 to my system? Ive got the ASrock 939S56M board so its got 4 slots.

Hey paul,

I would suggest going for a 2gb kit, chances are (as i found when i upgraded my 2x512mb sticks with another 2 which were supposed to be identical) that their not identical lol.

Caused me a few issues.

Also 4 sticks can lower any o/c you have and cause some voltage fluctuations which can also hinder overclocks and stability.

Yes, it would be better to get 2x1GB instead of 4x512MB
