hi could anyone help me , I want to upgrade from 32gb to 64gb but I have no idea which is best to buy for my setup thanks in advance

Why do you feel you need to upgrade? What games do you play, have you monitored how much RAM you are using? You'd only need 64GB with DCS or similar.

DCS, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Cities: Skylines 2 are the three obvious ones. Maybe Star Citizen?

32gb ram but not sure what type
From what I can see on the Gigabyte website, you only have 2 memory slots, so your only option appears to be: sell what you have and buy 2x32.

B460 doesn't support memory overclocking and the maximum speed of your CPU is 2933, so I would suggest something on Kingston's configurator like this:
2x KVR32N22D8/32

This memory should have multiple profiles (including 2933) and just downclock itself automatically, with no need to mess with anything in the BIOS.

You may also be able to just buy any 3200 64GB kit which requires XMP and use XMP to kit the maximum supported frequency of 2933, but I wouldn't want to guarantee that will work nicely with one click.

It is nearly Black Friday though, so maybe you'd rather just take a punt on the best deal and save £20-£30 (or whatever).

Are you sure your not running out of gpu memory as the recomended is only 32 gig for the game.

just been watching test of 32 vs 64 gb of flightsim24...64gb used more ram than the 32gb, but neither breached 20gb..64gb also resulted in lower fps..they also tested vr also. they also suggested it for flightsim2020, and i play that and get nowhere near my 32gb..actually, worth an ask as haven't downloaded 2024 version yet(only on xsx which doesn't count)..must be a thread discussing it here
