RAM usage in Windows 8.1

Hi,

my PC has 4GB of RAM. I've noticed that RAM usage in Task Manager always stays around 1.5GB. If I do something intensive it will go up to 1.8GB but no higher.

Is that normal? The 4GB is recognised in the BIOS and in Windows as far as I can see.

it all depends on what you have running on the PC and what programs load when the OS loads.

you should be able to check task manager to see what processes are using what amount of RAM.

Does it say 4000 (ish) on the Total Physical Memory in Task Manager / Performance tab?
