RAM Usage: MS Windows Search Indexer

Since the last MS update, I've had nothing but issue with the MS Search Indexer. I was watching YT last night, nothing else running, and it had consumed 97% of my RAM (32gb).

I've had a google around and it would seem this was an issue back in March 2020. I've had no issues with it since the recent update, but now I get 'low memory' crashes left right and center. Event viewer is reporting it as the search indexer.

I've limited what it indexes but it's still causing instablilty. As I type this, after restarting a few mins ago, the mem usage has gone from 800mb to 13gb.

Is there a solution for this?

Have you tried going to the troubleshooting section and rebuilding the index?

Only other option would be to turn Indexing off entirely which isn't great.

Yeah, I even removed a load of options for indexing but it still caused low memory errors.
Unfortunately I have resorted to disabling it. My PC only gets used for gaming, very little work or anything else.

Low memory errors? Haven't disabled pagefile have you?
