i have just got a none k i5 skylake, i am needing some ram around 2666 to 3000mhz so i can pump up the fsb. i have noticed that all ram over 2400Mhz is around 1.35v to 1.4v, stock ram is around 1.2v.

will the higher voltage affect the cpu?

Motherboard in use MSI Z170 M7

If you overclcok threw bckl then you will increase the ram speed at the same time so just set the correct timings and voltage for the ram when overclocked.

It wont damage the cpu but will make the entire overclock stable as you are overcloking both the cpu and ram at the same time, Theorecticly.

RANDOM!

My question is on x99 there was talks about higher voltage memory causing problem's, dose this problem also exhaust with z170
