This never used to happen before.

OK, so I recently upgraded to a 1920x1200 monitor and I'm running a 4870 and 3GB of RAM. However, whenever I play The Witcher I get a warning saying I am running low on RAM, even though I'm only at 70% of the memory. Presumably Vista thinks 70% and above is danger territory.

Presumably if I lowered the gaming res I wouldn't get these... but till I upgrade the RAM is there any way to disable these warnings?

EDIT - just thought - why doesn't this happen in other games? Seems to be fine at that res with Jericho.

tap vista on the shoulder and let it know your in a game and to quit bugging u about things it should sort out itself.

It'll be the paging file, not physical RAM it's warning you about, surely ?

To increase it:
Click the "Start" button, select "Run" and type in “sysdm.cpl.” Press "Enter."

Click the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Settings" button in the "Performance" section. Click the next "Advanced" tab and then click the "Change" button in the "Virtual Memory" section.

Find the list of drives and highlight the drive that contains your paging file. By default, this drive will be C: and will contain all of your Windows system files as well. Once highlighted, click the "Custom Size" button under "Paging File Size" for selected drive.

Reset both the "Initial Size" and "Maximum Size" values to higher values that better suit your needs. Click the "Set" button.

You may need a restart afterwards. :)
