Ram woes

I recently bought an extra stick of Geil ram for my older PC.

I have 2 sticks of dual channel (GE2GB3200BDC) 1gb ram installed:http://www.geilusa.com/products/showSpec/id/16

I bought an extra 1gb stick of ram (GE1GB3200BSC): http://www.geilusa.com/products/show/id/13.

The problem is the PC conks out if I have all three running together. If I run my original 2 together it's fine and same goes for the new stick on its own. Is this because I have 2 dual channel sticks and 1 single channel stick running together? Is there anyway to use all 3 sticks together or will I have to get rid of the newer single channel stick?

Also, what ram could I buy to replace all my ram, should I decide to (I'll probably get 4gbs)? Would I only be able to buy DDR2 PC3200? Or could I go with something newer?

I have an Abit AN8 Ultra motherboard: http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?DEFTITLE=Y&fMTYPE=Socket%20939&pMODEL_NAME=AN8%20Ultra

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

hmmm well iver nevr been certain about this dual channel malarky lol but looks like you going to be having 2gb in 1 channel and 1gb in second channel with the ram y ou got. to that sais it wont like it and may be the problem. not sure if there is way to turn the dual channel thing off in bios.

bit of a guess t hough sorry,

as for upgrade according to webby for that board its ddr1 board so you cant put any ddr2 memory in it.

in my opinion i wouldnt go upgrading all yoru memory if its going to cost you a lot of money as soon or later you are going to need a full upgarde to a ddr2 system weither it be am2/phenom core or c2d/c2q as you are using a cpu socket s939 that is no longer supported realt
