Hi,

I have 2 stick of RAM pc3200 184pin DDR ..

Now the 2 sticks when tested in pc1 using memtest reports errors and in everesthome you know when you home in on the RAM to find out speed etc it shows nothing, this creates the PC to reboot and randomly crash etc..
I have them inserted in the correct slots because I have followed the manual to a T

The same 2 sticks of RAM when in a another PC do not report any memtest errors - same test - and do not cause pc2 to crash or reboot..When in everesthome I get the speed per stick and other technical data..I have them in the correct slots as again I have followed the manual to a T...

I have never seen this before..

Any ideas what is going on?

Could be voltage or it could just be that they aren't compatible. Usually the motherboard manufacturer has a RAM compatibility list, maybe you should check there.

If the RAM speed and pins comply with the pc1 mobo manual then why wouldn't it work? Ive never come across RAM compatibility lists but I have in mobo manuals come across the speed and pins minimum requirements and have always followed these and it has always worked when purchasing new RAM...the mobo manufacturer in this case is ASUS (model a7nbx-vm)(skt 462) the RAM manufacturer well it doesnt say the only name I can see is on the databanks and its Samsung

The voltages have not been tweaked they are set to default for both PC's..

pc1 = amd2700
pc2 = amd3200

So there is not much in it...

its strange..
