It's time once again.

To everyone who is starting over the weekend, enjoy and make the most of it.

Last year I struggled to stop smoking, this year I am stopping for good (hopefully). :o

Ramadan Mubarak all. As always first few days are a struggle. Then it just becomes normal and you get used to it.

It's a struggle because your body is going into ketosis. Can take three days to adjust. But if you eat lots of naughty food in the evening then you trip the cycle once again.

I have quit smoking for good. It's really about your mindset. Been smoking for seven years and one day, because of financial standings and health concern, I just decided to quit and never look back. Till today (it's been four years). Feels good. Money that was suppose to be spent on cigarettes are spent on stocking up food at home.

I believe you can do it too.

Ramadhan Mubarak.

Ramadan Mubarak to you too.

To be fair, I stopped and had a lapse of 1, a couple days ago and it tasted and smelt disgusting. Enough to put me off for good now. It’s been a little difficult as I’ve a new appetite for food but I do feel better already to be fair.

Something that occurred to me about Ramadan today for no readily apparent reason; what do you do if you live in the north of Norway for example if Ramadan falls in June?

Some believe they can use Mecca time instead AFAIK. To be fair the people who originally created the rules weren’t really aware of that issue in northern Scandinavia.

Funnily enough, that jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none rag The Atlantic has an article just on this!

Basically as @dowie says, they take the nearest Islamic country or Mecca.

Also this.

Instead of creating a new thread, I thought it’s best to just continue with the one from last year.

Eid Mubarak to all celebrating today and tomorrow.

It’s been a quick Ramadan this year, and I’m rather saddened that it’s gone. The fasts weren’t difficult and it’s done my body the greater good.
