Hey all.

Was playing Bf bad company 2 tonight and all of a sudden pc just shut down? now it will not start? all the lights on the board light up, (on switch, reset
switch, bios led, and republic of gamers flashing light, and an led up by the bluetooth card) but niether of the power buttons will start the pc at all? nothing not even a vague attempt at posting?

I'm really annoyed at the mo.

The system has been running good for a couple of months, I've touched nothing since building it, and temps have been under 70c and while on game it runs less than 40c

Psu is a HX1000 corsair, Gpus are two bfg 280GTX OCX's and the system was bought as an overclocked i7950 @ 4.2 bundle from here!

I'm letting it all cool off for an hour but, I know something has gone bad, i've had one of those bad luck weeks.

Gearbox on partners car bust. Batt on mine went, broke a glass candle holder today marking my wooden flooring, dogs been ill, was late for work.

had just got a good handfull of tags to, which no doubt i've lost

so any help with the pc would be great.

:eek::D Merry x mass anyway

First thing to do is check each and every connector from your PSU to the motherboard. Not just if they are connected but look at the plastic connector part and make sure the silver wire pins are properly seated. Had the same thing with a mates PSU the other day.

Two pins had shifted and were not making contact on his 12v connector. I am assuming your PSU is all good. :D

Nah Psu has blown up, I've tried 2 motherboards on it, and tried my ramp III on another supply and it boots ok, so an RMA to corsair.

Do you think they will refuse to fix it, because the plastic braiding over the 8pin cpu cables has a fairly big hole in it from where its snagged on a case once or twice ??? cales are fine inside though??

Sadly have no idea about that - but if the cables are not cut or nicked in anyway it would be pretty hard for them to not RMA.

Funny this is the third HX PSU that I know off going **** up in the last week.

cables were fine, they said that it SHOULD be fine that the braid has been ripped,

Its only there for looks and protection imo so its done its job, lets hope they have some x mass spirit :D

I just hope i get it back in time for xmas hols. cant wait till new year, any one wanna rent me a psu

I think its been on the way for a while. as it used to randomly shut down on last system, and cold booting was a mare, but since i swaped to this board etc, I have had no problems wel till now

Cheers all ATB

Corsair customer support is excellent, quick service and normally give you the benefit of the doubt.

I wanted to buy some cable management grommets for my case mod and I made it perfectly clear I wanted to buy them. Within three days they shipped my some for free as long as I sent proof of purchase of any Corsair product! They have always been good with RMAs and they even RMA'd some RAM that was fried due to an over-volting experiment. Best customer service next to Crucial.

well the should have recieved RMA already so fingers crossed that they can get me a new one shipped before hols start, I got till friday for them to test it
after that they are closed and I have to wait till 2011:eek: :D
