Random black screen

I've gone back and tryed with dp again and the same overclock but I've reduced the core voltage from +100 to +50 in afterburner and guess what no black screens, this is really weard. You would thing the driver would crash with less volts but it doesn't.

Yep I had exactly the same thing mate regarding the voltages, I was doing exactly the same in my troubleshooting. I'm not sure mate what your next step could be. I still get black screens but only when my core clock is above 1150....so I just keep them well under that. At the end of the day, crossfire 390's laugh at any game even at 1440p when I'm on 1100mhz overclock, there's no point pushing it higher anymore.

I'd say pick a clock speed your happy with, run Valley or heaven benches for 20 minutes or so, dropping the voltage on each test to see how low you can go before it crashes. Once u find that point, bump the voltage up a bit for stability and play some games to make sure you don't get those black screens.

No worries mate. It's one of those funny ones that's for sure. Where exactly the problem comes from I have no idea. Although the black screen issue went away for me when I run stock clocks by changing the pump, it's still there if I push higher than the 1150mhz core as I've mentioned. If I bench over 1150mhz on the core, then I do it over hdmi, when I game I just run 1100mhz over dp. It annoyed me at first, but now I just think to myself why the hell do I need to run 1150mhz in crossfire when gaming lol. Going from 1100mhz to 1150mhz is prob the difference of less than 5fps. When I'm getting between 100fps and 144fps it really matters not.
