Random BSOD Problems

Hi All

I have posted this before but am a little further down the line with the problems but to be honest i'm only a few steps away from putting a sledge hammer through the machine

System (all at stock settings - not overclocked)
E8600
Gigatripe GA-EP45-DS3
2x 2gb Kingston HyperX PC2-8500
Asus GTX460

All worked fine until the upgrade to Win7 64bit & GTX460

I am getting the dreaded "Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal" BSOD.

It is completely random but only happens while connected to the Internet.

The following have all been tried with no effect:

1. Reinstalled Windows
2. Slackened Ram Timings and Played around with Voltages
3. Updated ALLLL drivers
4. No Memtest or Prime issues
5. Stable for 12+ hours playing games etc while not online
6. Crashes happen frequently but completely randomly while online - like playing Starcraft2 can play for 6+ hours in a single session while offline but will crash every 2-10 mins while online
7. Swapped ram modules around with no issues - tried with 1 stick etc
8. Was using a wireless dongle while crashing but now changed to hardline cat5 cable and still crashing!

I am sure there are many other things i've tried and forgotten to mention but this is really getting on my pecs now bigtime. The only thing that I can think of is that the GIGATRIPE motherboard is to blame somehow as all my experiences with them in the past have been bad!

Any ideas??? Please help!!!

Nasty problem :( Sounds like you've ruled out all the obvious stuff. I'm assuming you've tried different mobo chipset drivers?

Sounds like software rather than hardware, but you never know. Do you have access to another machine you can try parts out on?

All you can do now is the good old process of elimination I'm afraid.

Good luck!

Cant try hardware elsewhere but as I said all is testing and running fine in memtest and Prime95 for 24hrs...

The system was solid before the upgrade from XP to Win7 and the addition of the 460 but having said that it still is solid and will run games and prime for 24hrs with no crashes.

The only thing that cocks it up is connecting to the internet by hardline or wireless usb dongle. Crashes then come thick and fast...

All drivers are the most current and every variation have been tried, some driver updates make things better for an hour or so but then it's back to the same old routine!!!

Have you updated the BIOS to the latest version? Could be it doesn't like new OS / video card combo and the issue may have been addressed in a more recent BIOS update.

Are you using any Gigabyte software apps that came with the mobo? I know from experience that their software can cause random problems. Uninstall it all if you are....apart from the chipset stuff obviously.

Have you also checked there are no auto-updater type things running in your startups/services? Just wondering if something is trying to "dial out" when it detects you're on-line.

Bios is latest version, has not been updated since Sept 2009

No Gigatripe apps installed

Pretty sure there are no startups running in BG, will double check though

Try different ram modules. I reckon they don't like the mobo. I had the same issue with a gigtripe mobo and usb wifi dongle as well.

Actually, just hit the mobo with a big hammer!

Another crash just reported...

Apparently underneath the "Driver IRQL......"

it also says something about "tcpip.sys error"

So I have now reset the TCPIP and deleted and reinstalled new ethernet drivers, just waiting to see if this has any effect!
