yo

I have tested the Ram (being the most common cause) seprate. each stick tests ok and seems to run fine and i have tested them in diffrent slots on the MoBo.

I am going to test it in my Computer as it can handle both DDR2 and 3.

with both sticks the test seems run ok only once has it said there was an error. the build has had both Vista32 and now has Win7 and same random BSOD can occure but i didnt think the OS would have an effect anyway.

PC can run fine for a week or few days then have a BSOD say 3 times in one day maybe once just seems random. so if it is the RAM maybe one stick is just tempremental... is that possible?

it is a friends PC i built he has been ok with it but does need sorting... any other possible ideas or tests i can do before possibly sending items back.

thanks

run a memtest or windows memory diagnostic on each stick alone. running it on both sticks will not bring up errors that may be produced with only one stick in as they are getting tested as a pair

either download memtest and burn it to a bootable dvd with a program like MagicISO or Daemon Tools (i prefer magiciso myself) then restart windows and it will boot the program like when you install windows from a disc.

or you can open the start menu, type in memory and in the search results, the top item should be Memory Diagnostic Tool. Run this and choose to run next time you restart. Restart the computer and it will run and check the memory for you. Just make sure you do this twice. Once with each stick in the MB.

If there are any errors, one of these programs will tell you. I would use the windows one as it is the simplest one to use.

Here is the video for some help on it: http://bit.ly/sN5mHZ
