Random BSOD?

Hi peeps - wondering if anyone has heard anything like this.

I keep getting random BSOD issues - varying messages such as IRQL_NOT_EQUAL (or something like that) - also got NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM, and MEMORY_MANAGEMENT.

I thought it might have been to do with my old EMU soundcard, but after reading up on a few things, I decided to do a complete fresh install - so now it's only got windows 8.1 PRO installed.

I don't have any additional hardwear installed other than a SSD for system, and a few other hard drives (of varying ages and spec).

I've got 16gb of RipjawsX at 1600mhz installed, running at 1.5volts.
Motherboard is using AFAIK the defaults.

It's a z87x-OC, with a 4770k at stock speed.



I have a dread that it's the memory causing the issue - but. I ran memtest86 (I think that's what it's called) and it came up with no errors.
Also ran the windows memory test and I'm 99% sure it said no errors too (but I don't remember it finishing the test or what it said as I was called away ).

So - what should I be trying to do to fix this?
 
Generally RQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL can mean two things a driver issues, or a bad Windows Service caused by a backup utility or antivirus scanner.

I would say this would be a driver. Did you try to remove your sound card and use computer to see for BSOD? Also try to update your drivers to latest ones (chipset,GPU etc)

On the other hand ERROR: NTFS FILE SYSTEM (0×00000024)
is displayed when NTFS corruption is caused by the issues like, data corruption on disk, data corruption in memory, or running out of memory. In most of the cases, a spoiled hard drive is the reason so what hdd are you running?
 
See, I think at first things were hunky dory.
I had 4gb of Corsair Value ram installed in 1 slot, and that was it.

I then tried to see if my EMU 1820m would install ok, using legacy drivers from Vista/Win 7.

The soundcard is really quite old, but still well regarded, so I figure I may as well try and use it.

However it is a 32bit card (I think), and my system is Win 8.1 Pro 64bit
Not sure if that has a bearing on anything - but that's the situation.

I'm not sure, for certain, when these BSOD started happening, because it was within a day that I installed the soundcard, and then fitted this RipjawsX ram - so I thought it might be either that's causing the issue - so, I've removed the soundcard, and reinstalled windows.

Only now it's still happening - very frequently - and it's happening with varying messages - I'm sure the above BSOD are only a few that have happened, but I wiped the old installation, and I guess the crash dumps went with it.

(I only just discovered BSODviewer this morning and got to use it for about 30 secs before I had to leave for work - and there were only a couple of dumps saved then.)
 
bit more system agent voltage or digi/analogue

not sure what its called on z97,but its for memory controller,esp with 16gb
 
Wazza - can you explain a bit more what you meant?
I played around with the ram modules last night, and I think that maybe at the moment it's working out - but I want to test a bit more.
 
its for the integrated memory controller,i know you need more with more ram but not sure what its labelled as on haswell

you need someone with a haswell setup to tell you what to adjust
