Random calls

I've been getting random calls once or twice a week for a few months now. Landline, I call back it doesn't ring. I answer, don't speak or sometimes say hello, they hang up. Just had 1 now from a mobile phone.

Anyone else?

Yeah had this for years. I block all incoming calls.

My favourite recent call is an automated one which clearly intends to connect me to an agent. But it never manages to. So each call just rings and then when I answer it "I'm sorry we have been unable to connect you to one of our agents. We will call back later". I block each number obviously.

Don’t be calling numbers back! Whatever you do.

If you have an iPhone block all numbers except a trusted white list.

Not sure if Android has this feature.

Wow really? Never owned a phone before? Cold callers is a new concept to you? Nice cave you have been living in..... And you are ringing them back? Not sure if serious

Just block every single one of these numbers. It's just cold callers or phishing attempts.

Last time I checked, cold callers speak. Maybe you should move away from under the bridge?

It's been like this for the past few years, some spam callers ringing and then hanging up after a while without saying a thing, hoping you would call back. Depending on the number, this can sometimes charge you so I highly advise not doing this unless you recognise the number.

I've been using Google's dialler app for the past few phones and it comes with spam blocking. Filters out most of them but occasionally a couple do get through.

People just don't contact me by phone, it's whatsapp, email, whatever. So when 100% of your phonecalls are garbage it doesn't seem extreme

Have a function to "Block unknown/private numbers" outright on my Samsung. Not switched on mind you...it is now.

It's turned on my iPhone. Has been since day 1 of them launching the feature. Never had a call from an unknown number since.
