I'm running windows Vista and I've had a number of random crashes over the last week or so. Is there an easy way to work out what programme is causing the crash or how to start troubleshooting?
go to Reliability and performance monitor< type "Reliability and performance" in "start Search"> .....quickest way
in the window that opens click on "Reliabilty monitor" on left hand pane and check application failures......this may give some clues to what is causing your problems
I'm hoping it's not hardware at this stage. It's a relatively new laptop which came preassembled with lots of Toshiba junk software. I've had it 6 months so I thought things were OK and decided to run spyware doctor and Glary utilities (for registry problems) to remove most of the detritus but I'm worrying now that it may have removed something important.
I haven't run memtest and I don't know or have a netlimitor in reply to the other posters. Still a bit confused as it seems to lockup maybe once a day or less - so far with IE and Windows Email. THoughts?
