Random dashes when booting into Windows 7

Between the Asus mobo boot screen and getting to the windows eggtime login I get a fair few seconds of my system hanging on a black screen with nothing on apart from a 7 or 8 green/blue dashes in the top left of the screen.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Toast at this time of day? Surely toast is a morning foodstuff or a late night snack?!
