Im using the router that my ISP provided (BT) and usually a couple of times a day my internet wil just disconnect. Im connected wirelessly. I think its the router losing internet connection. Any ideas on why im losing connection? Will a better router make any differences to the speed im recieving and the reliablility of my connection. Thanks in advance

Connection is continueing to drop. Could it be that the router can't handle the intesive use?

I doubt it, unless it's a total piece of rubbish.

It's hard to advise without those line stats though. It's really surprising what some good old line stats can uncover in a poor line.

First post your as they are now stats, then stats when plugged into the test socket.

Line stats are the attenuation, noise margin, sync speed that your router reports in the web interface.

Usually things happen for a reason. A poor extension, telephone device or sky box could be pulling your line close to breaking point and occasionally, due to external changes in the line, it happens to dip below the threshold and stops working.

If you are connecting wirelessly, try cabling into the router. It could be wireless dropping out.

Sorry i've been away but thanks for the posts. I did realise yesterday that last night when my internet dropped my friend whose using a home plug stayed connected so yes im guessing it is the wirelss thats dropping out. Have you got any advice for this problem?
