Ok so i bought my new system a while back (early sep or so) and i was playing around happily with my new killer machine until a couple of weeks ago when i started (all of a sudden) getting bsod's and then the system wouldn't boot. It would just show a different error on the LED POST display on the motherboard. I sent it back, got a replacement nice and quickly from ocuk (ty) and it was working fine since last week until today. I put in a new dvdrw, hdd and my new saitek eclipse 2.
Yay i thought! the HDD formatted successfully, all the new stuff was working great!
Bam. bsod. 0x50, win32k.sys.
So i restart, the LED sticks on 89 on the motherboard (1. Assign IRQs to PCI devices, 2. Set up ACPI table at top of the memory).
Bam. bsod. 0xBE, win32k.sys.
*Enter extreme obscenities*
Ok i thought, turn off the PSU at the switch for a while, calm down. I turn it back on, weeee now it's sticking on C1 during the POST (Detect memory -Auto detection of DRAM size, type and ECC -Auto detection of L2 cache (socket 7 or below).
Hell no, this was EXACTLY the kind of thing i got before getting the board replaced!
Now, when trying to boot it now it gets stuck on 2d which is not mentioned anywhere in the motherboard's POST code definitions (yay).
The system in question is:
Abit AW9D-MAX
E6600 (complete stock speeds because of me being slightly paranoid of errors lately)
XFX GeForce 7950 GX2
Netgear 10/100 pci LAN card (on both of these boards the two lan ports don't work at all, no matter what I try, and yes i know how to work a PC).
Now, i refuse to beleive that this is the motherboard, but somehow don't want to beleive that i have a gremlin inside some part of my hardware which is destroying everything =)
It has actually just booted into windows after being switched off for a while, but there's nothing in the system error log. *Edit: so it completely froze after about 5 minutes and got stuck on 65 in POST (initializing PS2 mouse), i use an MX518 USB btw.
Anyone have any ideas?
edit: if i leave it switched off at the PSU for a while i can then boot into windows, but after ~5 mins it just freezes, no bsod, just a freeze. Nothing was in event log from the last freeze or anything, cpu was at 35c and the vcore is at default (1.3*)
