Evening :)

On the mothers computer, every so often ( can happen during boot, after 10 or so mins on the internet browsing sites, very random) i hear a sort of *Clunk* noise and the system freezes, no bsod or anything, if listening to music or watching a movie thay continue to play and you can move the mouse, just no responce when i click anything.

System is not overclocked, runs memtest and prime 95 without errors.
been running fine for months previous and no new software/drivers have been installed which is why it stumps me :(

when entering the bios i noticed that S.M.A.R.T on my HDD was disabled, i enabled and rebooted and booted up and sat fine on the desktop for 10mins before i had to leave.

Just hope that works.

does anyone else have any advice.? :)

Many Thnaks
