Random Freezes

Hi, Im getting a problem with my pc

Randomly it freezes so it locks up and you cant do anything. The screen just shows a still image of where it froze. There is no BSOD or anything and nothing in the windows reliability thing. Have you got any ideas what it could be? Its on windows 7 64bit.

What's your system spec? (is it clocked?)

Waht are your idles temps?

Have you installed any new hardware or software recently that coincides with the lock ups?

as above, but Id lean towards gfx overheating from sound of it

Well i removed my overclock and it still happens so its not that. I dont think my graphics are overheating either.

4gb ocz gold
xfx 4890

My idle temps are 33C for the CPU

The only software i think might be connected is windows live messenger. I think thats always open when it crashes. It can crash with and outwith games.

Have you done the usual diagnostic procedure of using memtest86 to ensure that there is not a RAM fault?

Nah theres no new hardware although the whole thing is pretty new it didn't do this from the start. Trying memtest now.
