Hi everyone,
Some of you may remember my fail order in which I asked for advice on lowering the voltage on my CPU as my motherboard doesn't support it. Well, my computer has been freezing, without any bluescreen messages or auto shutdowns, I have to manually turn the computer off.
This appears to happen completely at random at any time and the computer can go several days without doing it, whether the computer is under load or not. I've tried underclocking the entire system, running at stock nothing changes this.
I've ran memtest, chkdsk, Win 7s own performance monitor, several benchmarking programs, the computer strangely hasn't frozen or displayed any errors under any of them.
I've opened the case, no dodgey power cables making contact with anything, no obvious signs of earthing.
I obviously think it's the motherboard due to my botched order, however is there anything anyone could recommend to test this considering I have no additional parts to test with, including a graphics card?
Me setup is as follows:
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)
Patriot G Series Sector 5 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel (PGV34G1333ELK)
Antec TruePower New Modular 550W Power Supply
Asus M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD502HJ)
Sony Optiarc AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
I also have an unbranded wifi card, I'll be removing this to test later on, thanks.
