Hey guys,
I’ve recently re-commissioned an old 1200 Duron, Windows XP Pro system so that my Dad can you the internet/send email etc.
It was fine the last time I used it and nothing has changed either hardware or software wise? The thing is that now it is constantly ‘Freezing’ whilst in Windows?
It can happen when the PC is idle or when or you in the middle of doing something, like browser the internet or using Word etc
The mouse cursor just freezes and the PC stops responding? Ctl, Alt, Dlt doesn’t even respond.
I’m now exhausted of ideas?
I’ve tried;
• Removing all USB devices that aren’t currently needed.
• Running Memtest for 48hrs + All okay?
• Removing all unnecessary startup entries.
• Re-installing Windows then updating. The problem remains…
Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
SW.
