Nothing in eventvwr, Full spyware etc. scan done.

It's an old AMD 2600+ system. I've not had chance to have a look, though he sent it to a PC shop and they are saying the MSI motherboard in it doesn't like the PCI wireless card I added the other week. Could this be right? I installed it about 5 weeks ago but it wireless wasn't in use and it was fine. Switched him over to wireless and since then the problems started.

It just completely freezes randomly when browsing. No mouse movement etc. Checked all temps, HDD, ran memtest also and no issues.

Try moving the pci card to another slot, sounds more like driver issue though it it only started when the connection was made live.

With many cards you get the choie of using the drivers and the makers connection utility or the drivers and the XP connection utility. Which ever one you doing try the other and see if it helps.

Will give that a go tomorrow evening when I'm round there again, thanks guys. It's just a pain to work on as he has Norton on it and it takes about 37 hours to boot up.
