I bought a 580 a few days ago and reformatted my hard drive to remove all traces of the ATI drivers. ONly problem is i keep getting small lock ups when doing tasks that i wasnt gettign before.
For e.g When i move a window around the screen (say itunes) Ill get a tiny bit of lag. The screen seems to freeze then unfreeze yet the task (moving the windowaround) will have been complated. The lock up/freeze only lasts for around a second. Is this to do with the gpu? I have run a stress test in OCCT and no errors have popped up. Other problems are apps seem to be taking longer to open and freeze up the comp for a few seconds on load up.
I have a theorys on what other things may be causing it...can you shed any light on my problem?
1: I have a raid 0 set up with two partitons. The first partition is just for the o/s,music, docs and programs. The second is for steam,games etc. This is the first time ive reformatted the os partiton. So im not sure if the registery/partition is messed up linking the games to the os. Altho im not runnign any games when the lock up happends. (if that makes any sense)
2: When i backed up my data for the reformat. I also backed up the appdata folder. I ran driver sweep in the appdata folder and no ATI drivers came up. COuld this be the problem? Is the appdata folder some how effecting performance?
3:The gpu drivers are up todate but could there be some confliction between the gpu drivers and my computer?
