Hello all,

I realise you are all computer experts here so I wondered if you could give me any nuggets of advice regarding a pc issue I have.

I have an old p4 machine, which was running a very old gfx card which was noisey. As I dont play games on it anymore I decided to buy a cheap silent gfx card... the nvidia 6200 from overclockers.

Unlike my old card which was a nvidias 7800oc, the card didnt need its own power... however the pc wouldnt start, and when it would the wireless card would not power up. I assumed that it was a power issue - not enough power in my crummy 240w psu. As a result I bought a BeQuiet 750w psu (as I intend to buid a new pc in a month or so!) and hooked that up to my pc. Now it starts great, but after a few minutes all the motherboard and usb ports power down. The internal fan still spins, and the HDD still spins - I also have a picture on the monitor, however all input devices are off, so I cant use the ruddy thing.

I wondered if the mobo may be fried by the psu, or if the new psu was cream crackered, or the new gfx card was somehow the issue.

Do any of you experts have any suggestions?
