Hello.
My pc occasionally acts weird in ways I can’t explain.
Can anyone explain any of this please? Spec below.
My pc is overclocked. Was at 4.5 but now seems to have degraded to need 0.12v extra to do 100mhz lower. I think this could be the RAM somehow though.
I’ve had a replacement motherboard and RAM since I’ve owned it but neither seems to have totally eradicated my issues. The ram is actually slower at 1866, they couldn’t RMA like for like.
I’ve tried F7 and F8b bios
Ok so:
1. Why does my pc freeze ten or so seconds into Windows at stock but is fine when overclocked?
2. Why does my pc sometimes power on but only show a steady flashing hard drive light?
3. Why is the only thing that solves number 2, pulling the RAM, rebooting without it then replacing?
4. Why did/does both motherboards and ram sometimes decide to only show one stick present?
I’ve been messing with PCs since 486s and I’ve had a board and ram swap...it’s really baffling me.
Maybe there’s an inherent incompatibility between my board and Kingston RAM?
This seems to happy once every six months or so. I reflash and reseat and everything is ok.
Thanks.
