I have ben having a problem the last few days, every now and then the pc wont boot, just hangs before the post screen.

A couple of resets, and it has been booting, however last night it wouldnt play ball.

Checking the error message readout led thingy, its saying cpu ok, ram ok, gets to initialising the VGA and I get an error code of 2A (2A isnt in the book!! lol)

After removing the whole system from the case, and re-seating everything it came back to life...... I restarted the pc, and it did the same again, no post suck at "initialising VGA"

so I tested graphics card in another machine, all ok.... (MSI 8800 gt)

put the vga card back in, and now its ok? and boots fine again

Was it a badly seated card, or something more sinister? lol

never had this happen before

I hope its not the mobo, but at least thats cheaper than a new 8800gt!!

Only thing is, I have an OEM version of vista, if I cange my mobo, will that cause me any problems with the liscencing?

Not sure about te PSU, its run an 8800gts with a higher power draw than the GT absoltley fine, but to make sure I'll try another PSU at some point this week.

I will keep using it for now, as I'm addicted to Crysis at the moment! that wa the thing i was gutted about most of all, themrs was out, and i had 3 hours playing time, that was cut short having to mess about getting the thing started! lol

Thanks for the reply.
