Ok, I had had a problem for a while when i tried to auto-encode then burn to DVD using various programs. Nerovision, dvdsanta, convertxtodvd etc etc.
My computer shuts itself down (all programs then shuts down XP) Doesn't crash, it just shuts down. It's now shutting down during games (Football Manager) and also now just during web-browsing through Firefox. Nothing else is running at this point.
I checked my CPU temp when encoding and it reached a max of 61C before the shutdown.
My motherboard is Asus A7V8X-X. Processor is AMD Athon 1.8ghz. 512mb RAM. Graphics card is Sapphire Radeon 9200Se Atlantis
I have also checked PC case for dust and cleared out any excess. My auto shutdown temp was 85C, I increased to 95C. However I've only ever seem it hit 65C, using Motherboard Monitor.
I also ran Prime95 torture test and it worked fine for around 3 hours before I stopped it.
The bizarre thing was yesterday morning, I managed to encode and burn a DVD through Nerovision, having done nothing at all differently
I'm starting to think it's a possible memory problem, although there's never been a problem in the past.
Not sure what forum it should go in as I'm not entirely sure what the problem is!
I can provide anymore info if need be.
Thanks for your help in advance.
