Random problem with Xbox

I purchased GTA Episodes from Liberty City a couple of days ago, got round to trying it last night and on the 1st cutscene the game froze, couldn't go into dash or anything. Restarted it and carried on, same thing after about 10 mins of play, and keeps doing it at random intervals. Varies between minutes and hours of gameplay.

Thought it maybe disc, had a look at it can't see any marks. Installed game to hdd incase it was disc or drive, but again it freezes randomly. I get either a froze screen, a black or a blue screen, and nothing works. Tried Modern Warfare 2 and played online for hours with no problem, tried Fifa 09 and that froze on a loading screen after about 2 matches.

Can't figure out what it could be, i'm getting no errors or anything and can only think the xbox maybe about ready to do a rrod. But until it does i'm stuck, any ideas or suggestions?
 
could be overheating perhaps, but normally that generates a red light or two i think (not the rrod).

where is your 360 & psu situated? might be worth giving them some fresh air if they are tucked away somewhere.

otherwise, if your 360 is under guarantee still, get it swapped over for another one to be on the safe side and ask the shop where you got it if you can keep your original hdd and therefore all your game saves.
