I've just spent the last few hours re-installing Windows (XP 32-bit) after my main hard drive (I have two, one for the OS and such and the the other for games) crashed. Basically, I was talking on MSN and suddenly I got a few of those 'such and such has stopped responding and has had to close, send error report/don't send report'. But basically, the program listed as having to close was just a bunch of numbers, I didn't write them down so don't remember what they were specifically but it was like this '3435634 353663435.exe'.

Theres no way a virus could have got into my system as I scan it regularly and my firewall/antivirus software would have shown something trying to access my system, also I haven't downloaded anything that could have caused a virus and there aren't any on my system atm. But basically, after I got all of those 'such and such has had to close messages', my computer froze up but I could still move the mouse, anyway, I reset the computer and then just after the Windows loading screen it would go to a blue screen with this error message:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer.

Technical information:
*** Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78A2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I couldn't get any further than the Windows load screen as that blue screen would keep showing everytime I tried to boot up the computer, it also happened when I was trying to boot up in safe mode aswell, in the end I had to reinstall Windows as the repair console wouldn't work either.

Anyway, long post but I was just wondering if anyone could shed any light on what the hell happened to my computer? It just seemed so random that it would crash all of a sudden.
