Hello all,

My wife has broken the 3,5mm jack on her beats, its just outside of warranty so they dont want to know or are not interested in fixing them, does anyone know of a place that can fix them? all It needs if the old jack taken off and the new one soldered on surely this is do-able, but I cant for love or money find anywhere business wise that does such repairs? is there no money in these types of repairs on headsets / headphones.

Any help is appreciated.

Many Thanks.

I’d try somewhere like a dodgy phone repair shop. All you need is a new plug and a soldering iron.

I thought i'll be as easy as that, but it turns out all the local mobile phone and console repair shops wont touch headphones. I saw you can get a jack on amazon for about £3 a little bit of souldering, 30 mins work, but no..

Half tempted to buy a cheaper one and the jack and try it myself lol..

them them? lol

How the hell does someone manage to break the 3.5mm jack on a set of headphones!

OP if you mention the model there might be a repair guide somewhere. Soldering on a headphone will be a doddle!

The headphones was connected to her laptop, all she done was pull out the headphones and the tip to the jack broke off inside the laptop. she paid £100+ for them so she doesnt want to bin them I would personally.

Buy replacement jack like these and do it yourself, it really isn't worth paying for somebody to do it.

I thought about that, the outlay would be about £20 or so, I got a free estimate from the site listed above, £22 to repair and they cover the postage seems decent, never heard of them before tho.

How would the outlay be £20, when you can get a jack as cheap as 99p? Even a jack and cheap iron can be had for less than £10.
