Hi. I just built a new system for a friend and everything seemed to work fine initially. However he says that occasionally when he turns the machine on it comes up with the message 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media and press any key'. He then turns it off and on again a few times and eventually it loads Windows and avoids this message. I have had this message appear sometimes when a USB hard drive is plugged into the computer but never other than that. The PC has 3 hard disks in and one is partitioned. Could it be that something is wrong with the HD order in the BIOS or some jumpers’ setup wrong? It is really annoying him now having to turn on and off to get intoWindows!

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Thanks for your reply. Could it really be the RAM? I only question this as once it does get into Windows it runs for days without restart and has no problems at all. Worth a shot though I guess.
