Been getting this quite a lot lately and am unsure of what way to go about sorting it, ran memtest with no issues, my psu is a few years old a coolermaster realpower 850. I'm doubting it has to do with power as it seems to usually happen when the systems really not under much load at all, usually when browsing or watching a youtube video as of late.

Have you added any new hardware recently?

Since the logs are dated, go to the very first log and compare the dates to windows update. See if there were some updates that day. Or you could system restore to before the first restart.

I'm assuming the rig in your sig has the issue.

I've got a nearly identical system to yours and its been fine for years but recently its started doing the same thing. In my instance though it only happens when I've been gaming for abit so I'm putting it down to a temp issue somewhere. I have an ax 1200 but maybe its faultering. I can't work it out either pal.

My lads had the same thing although different build.
I got that a lot whilst running the ram in XMP mode in the bios.
The ram was 2133 (oc) and is set at 1600 as standard which is what it has been running at since with no issues.

Recently switched it to anew case and upgraded to windows 8.1, im pretty sure it did it on the rare occasion on windows 7 but its much more frequent now. I've some other ram I can test with, though I was reading that it can also be due to sound drivers, got a different version of those to try and if it still does it i'll swap out the ram etc.

been getting this issue as well recently. will check with memory profiles. but be good if theres a solution like a windows update thats causing this.

that error just means the pc shutdown unexpectedly

it doesn't tell you the actual cause, any other errors in event viewer?

and try and catch any bsod code when it crashes again

with the recent extra hot weather it could be memory/memory controller or cpu voltage not enough

Usually don't get a bsod (at least I didn't see any), pc would just die then start back up as if someone had hit reset.

I don't think win8 throws out bsod codes,win7 does

tested for stability with your oc? how much vccio and vccsa are you using?

instant off's like that are usually ram or psu related

I had same problem. Same psu cpu(at stock) & mobo. Ram was fine ,so tried a new psu, and its never happened since.
Later I opened the old psu & it was crammed with dust

Enermax tell you to suck it out using a hoover (or did when they had a forum), it will get far more out than a hairdryer.

Kernel Power errors does not mean its PSU related as peep above already stated.

Check the psu for dust then. A hairdryer works great for blowing out dust

Was some inside it, not a great amount though.

Vccio and vccsa are both at auto, have been since I got the mobo and cpu in Jan 2011.

Run the Intel CPU checker.

Presume your overclocked? After this first thing is to slowly reduce CPU overclock and monitor what happens.

It seems to have stopped since changing the audio drivers , didn't do it yesterday at least. If I does occur again will give that a go as well as a longer bout of memtest.

I was dogged with the same error and BSOD, this only occurred when i moved from windows 7 to 8/8.1.

After mush experimentation i reduced the multiplier slightly on my cpu overclock and resolved the issue. Seems 8/8.1 is fussier than 7. My experience anyway.

Same here, moved from windows 7 64 to win 8.1 64. Surprising that it seems more sensitive to certain things.
