Random shut downs

I have had a prebuilt pc from OCUK for about 3 months , I had an issue where some times when I would turn it on it would start up for 5 seconds then shut down then it would boot up fully, I removed the overclock (from 4.4ghz to 3.3ghz)to see if this would solve the problem.

Now I have another issue, my computer is randomly shutting down , it has happend two times today, one time it went into sleep mode, then a few hours later it just straight shut down and I got the safe mode screen when I started.

I am aware it might be one of the two
>Memory module going bad;
>Power supply going bad.

but how would I figure out what it is?

This is worrying me as I dont live in the UK and I dont want to have to pay £40 postage to send it back to OC , does anyone have any clue what this might be?

OcUK service package on pre built systems:

Service Package
- Full 12 Month collect and return warranty
- Each specification is assembled from handpicked components for compatibility and stability
- Telephone, web note and forum technical support

Presumably this package applies to the Isle of Man unless you've been told otherwise.

Does the system have an Asus motherboard?

The starting, stopping and starting again is normal for Asus boards when the processor is overclocked. It does a quick test before starting properly.

As others have said, it sounds like a PSU problem. But I'd recommend doing a memtest86+ to rule out faulty memory.

Just Google memtest86, download the RAR, extract it, burn the ISO to a disc, boot from the CD ROM on startup and follow the on screen instructions.
