Morning all I am in need of some help.

This morning while I was playing fifa my pc just shut down completely without any warning what so ever.
I have downloaded speccy and it is showing my cpu temp as 105"c which I thought would make the computer not come on or even alarm at me.

Anyhow I thought I would have a look in the bios to take a look, well I cannot even access it since it will not display either by using the gpu or the motherboard so not sure what is going on there either.

My specs are

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
AMD Ryzen 7 100 °C
Summit Ridge 14nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1465MHz (16-18-18-36)
Motherboard
Micro-Star International Co. Ltd. X470 GAMING PRO (MS-7B79) (AM4) 34 °C
Graphics
C24FG7x (1920x1080@119Hz)
8192MB ATI Radeon RX 580 Series (C.P. Technology) 54 °C
Storage
465GB NVMe Samsung SSD 970 SCSI Disk Device (Unknown (SSD))
465GB Crucial CT500MX500SSD1 (SATA (SSD))
Optical Drives
No optical disk drives detected
Audio

Any kind of help would be much appreciated.

I cant say I have being monitoring my temps.

It is the stock cooler and no I have not clocked it at any point.

I will open the case up and have a look inside either tonight or at the weekend when I get a chance.

Just fired up the desktop to see if anything had changed before I open it up and I am confused.

Speccy is reporting 102°c at idle while Core temp is displaying 40°c I have just tried Prime95 for a little while and Speccy was showing 119°c and Core temp 57°c.

So i am not too sure what is actually happening. It does not seem right that I am getting the two very different temps.

I only downloaded Coretemp this morning after the shut downs. Feeling confident it has nothing to do with the CPU. I have also just tried HWINFO64 and that is also reporting 40°c.

I have a feeling it may be the GPU since that is currently reporting a temp of 58°c and I have only just been browsing.

Just run furmark for 10 minutes and the temp was a constant 80°c but with the fan speed slowly getting upto 79% after 10mins.

Is that long enough to spot anything?

Reliability History is just showing the two unexpected shut downs but they was a number of updates that happened yesterday according to that.

No not had any problems since then but to be fair I have not had chance to play any games since then either. I will see how I get on when I get back on Monday.

Think I figured out my problem. Last night I could not even turn the pc on, when I went to look at the back I could hear the electric buzzing so I turned all the power off and it turned out the power cord was not fully. Well I hope that was it. I did 5 games straight this morning on Fifa with no problems.
