Hi everyone.
I've been having the said problem for about a month now, this can happen anytime and with non demanding tasks, sometimes it will boot up ok other times just keeps trying to.
I've ran memtest for 8 passes and completed ok with no errors, ran Prime95 on blend and small ftt, this sometimes crashes but more often passes ok with CPU temps reaching a max of 60degC every time even on crashing. I've wiggled and pushed everything and cannot force the shutdown to happen.
I've just stripped out the CPU and motherboard and the only real thing I could find was the plate on the backside of the MB for the CPU holder is slightly warped, but no signs of heat, rebuilt everything with new compound and rebooted and shutdown again and tried to reboot.
My Specs are: i7 6700k (non O/C), Asus Maximus gene VIII, Evga 980 ti (non O/C), Evga 550w G2 PSu, Corsair H100I GTX cooler. 2 x Samsung SSD, 1 for O/S , WD Red 3TB, and 4 x cooling fans.
With the card fitted the computer will crash more often, sometimes on a cold boot.
Your help appreciated
