Random shutdowns

Hi all

I've started getting random shutdowns and would really appreciate a sanity check.

My rig is in my signature. Both times I had a total power loss with no BSOD and there was nothing suspect in the event log (other than error 41, but that's what I'd expect from a bad shutdown). It was as is someone had pulled the plug. The first time happened at the Windows login screen, after I'd left my computer idling for about 30 mins. The second time was while launching Shadow of the Tomb Raider (during the title screens, not loading a savegame).

My GPU seems to be running fine when I've stress tested it, as does the CPU. I'm leaning towards it being the PSU, as it's the oldest component in there - bought it in October 2014, so it's past the 4 year mark now. I've also noticed that my rig can be a bit grumpy if I leave it a few days (loops before hitting the post screen, but reboots after a power down).

Any thoughts? I'd rather not buy a new PSU if I don't have to...

Thanks!

Load UEFI defaults, get rid of the overclock on the RAM/CPU see how you go? Check for any BIOS updates and see if there is a change log telling you what they add/fix. Clean your computer if it is dirty, especially the PSU. :)

After going back over everything again, I noticed that the kettle lead wasn't in tight... I'm going to leave it for a while to make sure that's the cause, but it seems pretty likely!
