Has anyone else found out any interesting stats for the world cup?

Indeed, really annoys me when you see Gary Neville with his head down or Rooney just staring into space. Two of our supposedly most passionate players.

Rest of the team seem to have done a pretty good job of singing it in this tournament.

I noticed Hargreaves doesn't sing it but then he can be excused as he probably doesn't know the words

What does singing our dirge of an anthem have to do with being passionate about football?

i just like to see it. the national anthem is supposed to get you pysced up for the game, they all should be belting it out. when you watch the England Rugby team they all belt it out and look like there gonna kill somebody. i wanna see the same passion and will to win from the football team.

our anthem is poo tho. should be land of hope and glory imo

Personally I'd struggle to sing it with any real meaning. I'm an atheist who doesn't give a stuff about the Queen. Makes the whole thing somewhat irrelevant and I'd feel hypocritical singing along..

I don't care whether they sing something thats completely unconnected or not

When I was playing in cup finals this year the last thing on my mind was singing some funereal dirge about an outdated monarchy. I was thinking about the match.

I don't know about you either, but I wouldn't need to sing some rubbish about someone I'd never met to be psyched about playing in the World Cup for my country...

well thats why i think they should change it ti the one i mentioned, but i still think they should all be singing it

I started a GD thread a while ago on the subject of changing it. Vast majority wanted it changed to Rule Brit., Jerusalem or Land of Hope and Glory.

Why should they sing it though?

Should all traditions be followed simply because they're traditions? I bet there's always been some that weren't singing because they were focused on important things instead.

i just think its one of those traditions thats important and it gets the fans going too.

just think its shows them to be up for it when they sing whether that gets them going or not
