Hello All,

I have a intermittent problem where my mouse pointer will change its appearance from the typical arrow (standard in Windows 7), to the following (changes depending on what it is hovering over):-

One thing I find interesting about this is that, when i am using multiple monitors the changed pointer will only appear on one of them, with the rest remaining standard.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance :)

I get this now and again, mainly seems to be when watching streaming vids on iplayer or 4od and I've popped out the player to drag over to the second screen.

That's the only time it seems to happen for me and tbh it's not really bothered me enough to look into it but would be interested if anyone comes up with anything.

Same thing happens to me as well, due to multiple monitors. I find if I violently shake the cursor around for a few seconds, it fixes it. No idea what causes it but it randomly happens, although very rarely. Different drivers does nothing for me, but this problem only crops up with multiple monitors.

Thanks for the replies.

It has no real negative effect so it doesn't really bother me, it would just be nice to know why it happens atleast.

This has happened with multiple different video card drivers so I don't think it is that.

I do use display fusion though (multi monitor task bar etc), so i guess this may be causing it? The problem doesn't happen frequently enough for me to test if the problem goes should I stop using the software.

Well, I use no multi monitor at all, just the stock Windows stuff. It could be just a bug within Windows itself.

But yeah the problem is pretty annoying if you're playing a game that requires a proper cursor to see what you're doing :p.

This seems to be happening more often now, or it may just be that I am using multi monitors more often...

Either way it is driving me insane, especially when I can't get rid of it by shaking the pointer about.
