Just got a bit thrown in a conversation with an Oz girl. It's raining out and she said her pants were wet. Do Australians use the same term for trousers as the Yanks, or is my luck in?

I know the Brits used to use the term pants and it went out of fashion years ago, so my best guess is she meant trousers...

I had just spent about 3 hours in the rain fixing her car - my (under)pants defintely were wet so perhaps there was an element of gratitude

Australians use all the american terms. Infact they are more american than english really.

Don't EVER say that to an Oz if you want to live Surely that's worse than calling them convicts
