Sorry, was listening to Deadmau5 :D

Got my insurance payout for bike and kit now sorted, so I’m fighting the urge to go out and get a replacement for the R1 now……

Whilst fighting said urge, I replaced my damaged XR-1100 with another, only this time a Tommy Hill replica edition:

My Alpinestars Supertech Rs are looking quite worn after the 13K+ miles they have done, and one of the inner boots is damaged, one of the clips for the lacing system has snapped off…. any excuse really :p

As for a bike, well, I was tempted by an RC8 but have read a couple of pretty scathing reviews, so I’m not too sure on that one now, I still really love the Daytona 675 and it’s a strong candidate, but as yet, I am to find a 0% APR deal on… I also toyed with the idea of going Ducati, but they are mega bucks, so I’d have to really fight the urge and save up for a deposit on one.

Ah, who knows, the bike world is my oyster at the moment, I may find a great deal and just jump on it, or I may play it cool and wait until the winter months and hope for better deals and discounts; will be sad to miss the ‘good’ weather I’m sure will get these next few months though :(
 
What size boot are you? I know a guy in Stoke selling some Sidi Vertigos in Red/Black and size 9.5 for £125, maybe budge him down to £110. 7 months old, small scuff on a toe guard but other than that, like new condition? Let me know if you're interested and ill pass his details on
 
Thanks dude, but I already have a set of Vertigos in blue/black - bought them when I had the Ninja and crashed in them too :D They are my 'commute boot'.

Edit: I may check out the Puma 1000 boot too, George White have 1000s in stock - £200 :)

I really am tempted, still have the paperwork from the local dealer here, showing the finance deal; although it's 14.4% APR!

I test rode a 2010 675 a few months back and loved everything about it, bar the lack of top end speed - I guess it was to be expected though, coming from a litre bike, but I don't think that'll be an issue any more, I would rather flick it through the bends than thrash it down a straight.

The white/blue one is the SE, I don't really like the blue frame, if I was going to buy one new I think it may have to be the 'tornado' red :D
 
I saw the SE at the local dealers (a couple of mates have got new bonneville and new thruxton) and I thought that the white and blue was gorgeous. The off-white in particular.

14.4%! That sounds crazy-talk. Is that a flat rate they do for any amount of finance?

Exactly what I though dude, that’s pretty ****y APR from my past experience, it was through ‘Blade Group’, who I don’t think are a ‘official’ Triumph dealership – I did see a 0% APR deal on a 675 but all the way up past Derby… bit far, but who knows :D

That was a 3 year PCP deal for the 14.4% by the way, so an £8,200 bike will cost about £10,600 iirc, the APR only went down to 12.something by extending the PCP by a year, only saving a couple of hundred quid!

I really wish I could mate – the way I’m looking at it is that any finance deal I get into is only temporary, as I’ll get my personal injury payment in the future, so will likely settle it with that, my monthly ‘disposable’ income is about £900, so getting another bike on finance doesn’t worry me – just want a good rate of APR; I think Kawasaki may be offering 0% on new bikes, Suzuki are 2%....

Off to Fowlers in Bristol tomorrow with a mate, I’ll have the kit in the boot, just in case I can blag some test rides :)

Oh, and I got the Sidi Vortice today – lovely boots and not as complicated to put on as everyone has made out, on other bike forums I mean, the Puma 1000 V2s were nice enough, but didn’t feel that comfy on (a bit tight) and were a real pain to get off.
 
i've always had sidis. vertebrae 1 - 2 and the same as them. I've done myself a lot of damage but i have my legs still thanks to Sidi. :)

Shoeis don't fit my head size - HJC or Arai only for me but it's the fit that will save your life.

Rule #1 - buy one that fits!

I love Sidis, they saved my feet/ankles in the '08 crash, hoping the new Vortice don't get called to do the same duty!

I don't think I really have an Arai head, it sits very low at the back and catches collars/humps a bit too much, but the Shoei is sweet as a nut, love the feelign inside too.
