total beginner.. picked up a Nikon D5100 so took some shots last week on a trip to Iceland. Feel free to critique... I am very new to this.

couldn't get the insert image to work so put up links.. can anyone help me to understand how to get the image preview up?

Ahh brilliant advice on the previews.. thankyou. So I cropped the pic and straightened it up , I think this is what you meant?. So much stuff to think about not only when taking pictures but also in post processing. I used lightroom 4 to mess around with the shadows and highlights etc but again I am completely new to it all. I think this will be a big learning curve for me.
