A few weeks ago I had to reboot after a Windows Update. When the PC restarted chkdsk ran and found some corrupted data. Ever since random applications either fail to load or crash. Sometimes Windows asks for a reboot with chkdsk!
First to go was AutoRoute 2007 which now loads to the splash screen then exits, then Windows Backup failed to load at all.
I've cheched the boot drives status via 'Disk Management' which says its fine. Ran several Scandisks (With and without AutoFix) and rebooted a few times when its asked for a chkdsk scan. Everytime is chkdsk's it finds corrupted data and 'fixes' it.
What diagnostic program can I use to further investigate this problem? Will a reload over the top fix it?
I'm upgrading soon but would like this fixed as I'll be running this and the new PC along side each other until the new one is up to speed.
Cheers for any help.
