Hi, so after experimenting a little trying to push my e6300 upto 2.8ghz i gave up and decided it was an issue of heat, and thats a project left for the weekend. Any how, i was running a series of Super Pi tests and i noticed that my time kept increasing by huge amounts! *normally this is due to heat* however, the amounts where unbelievable!
I ran the Intel PID utility and it said reported core 1+2 @ 2.06GHz, now unless my bios magically changed the bus speed or multiplier on its own (speed step is disabled), its a freak occurance, so I ran CPU-Z and lo and behold it says Multiplier: x 6.0
My mobo has no option to change the multi (MSI 975X PowerUp!), so I'm wondering what caused this?
Thanks for the insights, and the ability to read poorly constructed sentences.
