flying very slowly over box near bath south west england.
driving so unfortuantly couldn't get photo.
looked amazing though.
wonder where it was going ?

' off to the internetz'

Is this it?

I've been watching it flying around all last week as I live near Farnborough. F22 Raptors, Typhoons and loads of other aeroplanes I don't know have been tearing around the sky for a week.

Apparently it was on it's way down here to perform some kind of star force turn whatever that may be.

It was meant to have taken them quite a while to fix whatever was plaguing it, apparently an all nighter to get it done. Damn shame i didn't know culdrose air day was on today, i always miss it every year despite my love for jets.

I will book a day off next year that's for sure!!!!

Been lucky enough to see it twice this month. :)

Caught a lanc or a halifax (not sure which, was low and near the sun)fly over Reading last week. Nice to see :)

Saw the Vulcan at Waddington too!

Probably the Lancaster. There's 2 restored but static display only Halifax airframes and 1 unrestored but preserved and another hulk somewhere in Poland.

Had a brake unit failure - was replaced and had to be tested before it was allowed to fly again.

She's been much more reliable this year than last year. I suppose that as she's 50 this year she's allowed to be a touch hormonal. ;)

Vulcan - 1 - XH558
Lancasters - 2 - FM213 in Canada and PA474 in the UK (and potentially KB976 in the US and NX611 in the UK can be returned to flight)

XH558 was the first Vulcan B.Mk2 to enter service and the last to leave service. Although inbetween she was converted to a tanker and then used as the Vulcan Display Team aircraft from 1986 to 1993 *replacing XL426* and in 1993 she left RAF service and went to live at Bruntingthorpe and ran a few times down the runway until an engine failure curtailed that. Restoration to fly started in 1998 and on October 18th 2007 she took to the air for the first time as a civilian aircraft.

I think the NX611 can only taxi and is near the battle of britan memorial flight, which one of the 2 only flying lancs is
