Rank your headphones / headsets thread

I was thinking, given that we have a ridiculous amount of threads asking about what headphones / headsets to buy, we could come up with some sort of collective ranking thread.

I propose that people rank headphones that they've used for an extended period. This would preferably be headphones that we've owned but I'll accept ones you've borrowed and had chance to use for an extended period, say over a week. (Edit: It's not really a sound quality comparison - just how much you like them).

If some sort of consensus starts to emerge, I'll edit the OP to come up with a 'league table' type thing. Of course people are going to disagree to some extent and I'll have to sort out a ranking system of some sort.

If you want to include headphones you've heard briefly please put them in brackets. We'll get to hear your opinion but they won't be added to the rankings. I'll post again with mine shortly as an example.

If you want to update your list in future (say you change your mind or get some new headphones) please quote your previous post otherwise I'll never notice it for ranking purposes.

Edit: If there's a real gulf between your headphones pleas indicate with a gap in your rankings, as shown in some of the posts below.

Been using Creative Fatal1ty for 18 months. Really comfortable, no signs of wear and tear, audio works a treat. Can't fault them.

Okey dokey - but what else can you compare them to?

I like the extra space to indicate how much better things are that you guys have used. I'll edit my earlier ranking into divisions...

I like this idea would it be possible to do it with a budget category aswell?

i.e. "£100-200"

Kinda difficult to do. For example the Goldring NS1000s have been anywhere from £50 to £150 since they've been available. The DR150s have been anywhere from £30 to £70. I'll maybe think about how to incorporate it longer term.

Goldring DR-150s - better soundstage for gaming
JVC HA-RX700 - prefer for music

I'm vaguely interested in the JVC HA-RX700, having heard good things about it on various forums. Are you saying you'd rank the DR150s higher overall? What are you using as source and amp for both of them?

Just a reminder guys - this has to be a comparison.

It'll only get included in a compiled list if you have a direct comparison.

Started putting things into Excel last night. But coming up with a realistic ranking system could be tricky once we get some contradictions. I'm working on it.

Guys - for the list I'm compiling - do you think it's fair for me to take a stab at guessing what some models might be if people can't quite remember the exact model (as D2000s above)?

By the way - Ad - I'm not going to automatically push all the headphones you mentioned above 'headsets' in general without further justification. If you want to quote your post and then name and shame individual models, feel free though.
