Rapidshare Premium Account Holders

i am a rapidshare premium account holder too.

i use download them all! plugin for firefox and linkification to convert all http lines into clickable.

sometime use jDownload

I was a premium member. My one year account expired in September. I used to use Rapidshare's own download manager, it works very well. The yearly plan is the most cost effective.

Now I use usenet and its way better imo.

As far as I can tell, the Premium Happy Hours are still in effect; there is nothing in the news about it being removed. Downloads taking place between 01:00 and 09:00 GMT use only 10% of the usual amount of your traffic, meaning you can download 50GB instead of 5GB if you download at this time. Unless you're pulling down over 350GB a week, you should not have problems with the limits assuming you schedule your downloads to run during the Happy Hours.

What dl managers do you guys use? I used to use RapGet (then that stopped working), so I switched to JDownloader, which was great (especially the unrar as you download) until it kept telling me my account was invalid....so now I'm on Rapidshare Downloader which is annoying and badly designed.

I use Flashget with Orbit downloader, best method I've came across yet.

I think i know what your problem is, this is the first day using your account is it?

They change it round all the time but i think it works like this, you get 5gig usage per day and that can add up to 25gig over 4 days (if you don't download).
So give it 24 hours and try not to download all 5gig and tomorrow you should see it between 5-10gig
This is how it works from what I've noticed.

When you don't download anything, your account is credited with 5GB traffic every day, or more accurately, at the end of the day, any traffic left out of the 5GB gets credited to your traffic usage.

Download 1GB a day over 5 days, and on the fifth day, your traffic usage would be 20GB left.

I used to use rapget. I now use IDM (internet download manager) Its the only way forward. It also allow you to download stuff from youtube etc and you can right click a page and download all with IDM, stripping out all the useless junk

Had a premium account for a couple of years now.

One thing I've never paid much attention to or worked out what they were for are the Free RapidPoints.

What can you/do you use those for?. Mine says i have about 14k of them?.

You can you them to extend you account, create a new account, or buy good (like rapidshare tshirts, digital cameras and loads of other stuff)

You get them by hosting stuff and when people that do not have a registered account download it you get a few points. Like advertising for them so you get points

Can't recall any option to use them to extend my account the last few times I did so?.

Are you sure its the "Free" points that allow you to do this?.

**EDIT Your right, i just found the info on the FAQ page. Doh!!!

Can't see any "T-shirts" or anything like that merchandise wise in the Premium Zone?. I'm probably not looking properly though. :)

So I assume that you can extend a current Premium account with these free points and you don't have to use them to create a new RS Prem account first and then extend that if you know what I mean?. It's just the screen interface is a bit dubious? :-

Where I've put the red arrow, clicking on that means I can extend my usual RS Prem account rather than clicking on the option above that to set up a new Premium account and then using the red arrowed option to extend that?.

Sorry if that is as clear as mud!!!.
