rapidshare ?

Usenet is probably better, but more complicated to set up. Finding the links for stuff on rapidshare can be a pain sometimes, although having never used newsgroups I can't comment on the stuff on it.

If you download enough to hit Rapidshare's limits, then you're probably going to be better off with an unlimited Usenet subscription. Also, Usenet can be SSL encrypted. Then again, a decent Usenet account is more expensive. Personally I've been able to find everything I need on RS. Theoretically RS has better retention as nothing that gets downloaded is ever deleted from RS, where on Usenet you'll struggle with files that are more than a year old.

usenet does not have nowhere near the amount of information uploaded to it that rapidshare does...rapidshare pawns all;)

Files get deleted a hell of a lot on RS I used RS for 3 years since moving to usenet I've never looked back.

To backup what Browney said,

My Usenet provider now has a 200 day retention (ammount of time data is stored on servers) which is much longer than the average file stays on Rapidshare imo.

both have advances to be honest

i personally use them both

i use rapidshare mostly for sharing large files

whilst of cause i use usenet for downloading

rapidshare for downloading is great if u can find the links
although links can become dead quickly.

if u dont mind paying then usenet everytime really
