Hey all

I thought I uninstalled rapport (HSBC anti-phishing software) from my MBP. Something has been draining my battery a bit, when I looked on my activity monitor, there is a service called "rapportd" which is always using 1.2-1.6 % cpu.

How do I get rid of this service permanently? I can quit the process but after restart its there again.

No its only shows up under activity monitor. I used terminal to try to locate and uninstall files as recommended by rapport but terminal says there are no files present where rapport should be installed

Try this, it might give you an idea where it is.

Highlight the process in Activity Monitor then hit the Inspect icon above it.

You may have an "Open Files and Ports" tab - If so, this will give you the location of the file.

Cheers feek, tried that, still couldn't find any files though.

I found another one too! Logitech control centre, not taking up any cpu but taking up some memory.

I downloaded the Rapport and logitech control centre apps again, installed them, then found the "official" uninstall methods for them.

I remember I dragged and dropped these to trash to uninstall (like everyone keeps telling me) but apparently they didn't uninstall fully? Why not?
